Shivratri is a sacred night of stillness, inner awakening, and deep spiritual alignment. It is a time when consciousness naturally turns inward and silence becomes a doorway.
On this auspicious night, you are invited to join Meditative Sketching of Shiva, a gentle and soulful art experience offered for the 6th year in a row, held every Shivratri night as a living ritual of presence, devotion, and calm.
This is not an art class focused on perfection. It is a meditative practice through sketching, where the form of Shiva—seated in deep meditation—emerges slowly through mindful lines, breath, and awareness.
Shiva, the Adi Yogi, represents stillness, balance, and boundless awareness. His meditative posture reminds us that true transformation begins in silence.
Sketching Shiva on Shivratri allows you to align with the energy of the night—where effort softens, the mind quietens, and creativity flows from a deeper place. As your hands move on paper, the nervous system begins to relax, and meditation happens naturally.
Art as a form of meditation
A calming, grounding creative process
Connection with the sacred energy of Shivratri
Improved focus and emotional balance
A sense of devotion expressed through drawing
Deep stillness without effort
Many participants return year after year, drawn to the simplicity and depth of this practice. Each Shivratri unfolds differently, yet the essence remains the same—presence, surrender, and inner quiet.
This workshop is for you if you:
Feel drawn to Shiva or Shivratri
Wish to experience meditation in a creative way
Want to slow down and reconnect inwardly
Are curious about spiritual art practices
Are a beginner or experienced artist
No prior drawing experience is required. You will be gently guided step by step.
Please keep the following materials ready:
Printed base sketch (shared in advance)
Sketching pencils: 2B and 4B
Drawing pens: 0.5 mm and 0.3 mm
Black paint or black colour (any medium)
Use what you already have. The focus is on presence, not perfection.
Participants often describe feeling calmer, more centered, and deeply connected—both during and after the session. Many say the experience stays with them long after the drawing is complete.
If you feel called to sit with Shiva in stillness, to allow art to become meditation, and to honour Shivratri in a grounded and meaningful way, you are warmly invited.
Come as you are. Sit. Breathe. Draw. Let the sacred night guide your hands.
Create time in your diary and prepare to welcome Shiva's presence through silence, sketching, and inner connection.
Please print this base drawing on a very good quality smooth drawing paper of A4 size.
